Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler to visit Salem County

Kaeppeler will be making a quick detour to Salem Middle School to speak to the whole student body at an assembly at 2 p.m.  on Wednesday, December 5th.

Presenting Miss America will be the students participating in the
International Baccalaureate Program from Salem High School who have been a part of the planning process for the assembly.

The IB students have devised an essay contest that the whole student body, grades 3-8, of Salem Middle School will be participating in.

The essay question asks the students to think of a person in their life who has been an influential force and describe what qualities in their eyes makes them a mentor. Two students from each grade will then be selected to attend the dinner and meet Miss America.

Dinner, starting at 6 p.m., will be at Pennsville Middle School located at 4 William Penn Ave.

The dinner can include those attending the luncheon, but attendance will be expanded to include mentors and mentees participating in MASC&EC’s Mentoring Program and their families as well as the general public.

There is a fee of $30 per person for both events. R.S.V.P no later than Nov. 26.
