Salem High School students honored by Salem Exchange Club

SALEM – Several Salem High School students were selected by the Salem Exchange Club as its Winter and Spring Scholar-Athletes.

Monique Lusby, Samantha Hulmes, and Kenya Woods were selected as the the club’s Winter Scholar-Athletes and were recognized at the club’s weekly meeting at Michael’s Restaurant, Pennsville, on March 13.


Monique was active in cheerleading, field hockey, basketball, and track and field. She received the Coach’s Award for cheerleading her freshman year and was a Student of the Month. She plans to attend Richard Stockton College and major in business. 

Samantha was active in soccer, swimming, and softball. She received the Coach’s Award in swimming and was recognized as a Student of the Month. 

She also made the Superintendent’s List and was inducted into the National Honor Society.
  
Samantha plans to attend college, major in biology, and become a missionary doctor in Haiti.

Kenya was active in field hockey, basketball and softball. She was named a team All-Star in field hockey and basketball and was inducted into to the National Honor Society.
 
Kenya plans to attend a four-year college and major in athletic training.

Ryan Underwood, Taylor Hill, Kevin Smick and Caitlyn Hudock were selected as the Salem Exchange Club’s Spring Scholar-Athletes.
Ryan was active in soccer, swimming and baseball.

He was inducted into the National Honor Society and was a delegate to Boys State. He plans to join the Marine Corps after graduation.
  
Taylor was active in soccer and softball. She was an honor roll student, recognized as a Student of the Month and was inducted into the National Honor Society. She plans to attend a four-year college and major in nursing.
 
Kevin was active in soccer, winter track and baseball. He was a Tri-County Conference All-Star and earned honorable mention in the Courier Post’s All Group 1 selection. 

Kevin was an honor roll student, recognized as a Student of the Month, and was inducted to the National Honor Society.

He plans plans to attend a four-year college and major in accounting.
 
Caitlyn was active in basketball and softball. She was an honor roll student and was inducted into the National Honor Society.

She plans to attend college and major in physical therapy.
