Congratulations to the SHS Class of 2013
Friday, June 28 - Pool & Pizza Party at the Salem City Pool. This event if free, 4 pm to 7 pm. Everyone is invited for games, dance contests, giveaways, pizza and beverages.
Tuesday, June 25 - Thursday, June 28 - Summer School Registration. 9 am to 1 pm in the SHS Main Office.
Monday, July 1 - Thursday, August 8 - Summer School at SHS. See full course listing on the SHS Homepage - http://www.salemnj.org/schools/salem_high_school.
July 18 - SHS Senior Portraits, 7 am to 5 pm in the SHS Auditorium.
Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22 - S.A.T. Prep Course @ SHS. This Summer Prep course is free and open to all Salem County 9th, 10th & 11th grade students. The course will meet from 9 am to 12 noon each day. Registration will begin at 8 am in the Main Office on Monday, August 19. All materials will be supplied by Salem Public School District.
Sunday, August 11 through Sunday, August 18 - SHS Football Camp.
If you are in need of volunteer hours for your service clubs or potential service clubs such as the National Honor Society, the IB CAS program or Interact, please stop in Guidance to checkout camp counselor positions for Free Camps that will be sponsored by the Lighthouse Ministry, Inc. over the summer.
All young men are reminded that when you turn eighteen you must register for Selective Service within 30 days of your birthday. Not registering is a felony. You will be fined $250,000 and you may also have to serve up to 5 years in prison. You will also lose certain benefits such as student financial aid, government employment, and US citizenship for male immigrants. Registration forms are available in the Main Office and at your local post office or you can register online at www.sss.gov
Moore College of Art and Design is holding a National Portfolio Review Day. If planning to go to an art school you should sign up. Representatives from various universities in many states will be attending. Save the date: Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 12pm-4pm.
There will be a sophomore class meeting Thursday during homeroom and Thursday after school in D-45. All officers please see Mrs. Derham before the meetings.
The School Based Youth Services Program will host a program for all Freshmen and Sophomores on Tuesday, October 9th during periods 10 and 11. We will run on a normal bell schedule.
Save the date- homecoming 2012 " Welcome to the Wild" is Sat. Oct 20th from 7-10 pm! Homecoming ticket sales will begin Oct 9th (Tuesday) through Oct 19th (Friday). All outside guest tickets must be purchased by Oct 17th (Wednesday). Tickets can be purchased during lunches or after school in A-50 (Mrs. Bartlett). Tickets are $6.00 each!
Students who plan on participating in the road clean up on Saturday, need to see Mrs. Derham for a permission slip bytomorrow in room A-1. Permission slips are due by Friday, May 31st. We must have at least 10 students to participate or the event will be cancelled.
