LRC Procedures
LRC Hours:
  • The LRC is open before school, every day
    (The Academic League meets during Homeroom in the LRC)
  • The LRC is open afterschool until 3 pm
Visiting the Media Center:
  • During Study Hall - 3 students per period - with a valid pass
  • During Lunch - the LRC is open for students with a pass 
  • With a Class - Students visiting with their classes & teacher will receive priority computer access
  • All students coming to the LRC must have a valid pass
  • All students coming to the LRC without their teacher,
    must sign in at the circulation desk
  • Students may not bring food or beverages into the LRC
  • Students may not use cell phones in the LRC
Reasons to Visit the LRC:
  • Books are Free - Read/Return
  • Silence is Golden - If you want some peace and quiet, the library is the best place to be.  It has a good atmosphere for work and research with a ton of information at your fingertips.
  • Browsing - Your can satisfy the thrill of just being able to browse shelves for books.  
  • Like-minded people - It's a comfort to be around like-minded bookworms, and you might be more motivated just from looking at people hard at work.  
  • Pick the librarian's brain - Librarians can be great resource for either helping with your research or recommending books that you might be interested in.  
  • Better test scores - Studies show that students who often visit the library have higher ACT, reading, and writing scores versus those who don't.  Further proof that libraries make you smarter!
  • Comfortable chairs - Lots of informal engaging space & comfy seats, it's the "living room" of the school.
  • Get some work done - Our tables & chairs are perfect for homework, projects and study.
  • Audio books - Check out our Playaways, they're great for car rides!

Conduct in the LRC:

  • Students are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards teachers, staff and fellow students
  • Disruptive behavior can result in suspension of library privileges, as well as receiving appropriate discipline referrals.
