EVENTS
On December 19, a “Healing Expressions Memorial Experience” ceremony was held for students from the middle and high schools, family members and staff were also invited.
The ceremony was conducted by Marcy Francis, founder of The Healing Feeling. The ceremony was interactive with participants, Ms. Francis and her staff utilizing African drums, maracas, music and rhythm. The ceremony was presented because the holidays can be a trigger of many mixed emotions, and our goal was to lessen feelings of grief by celebrating the life of the participants loved one(s) by remembering them in a positive ceremony.
The ceremony was coordinated by Mrs. Cassandra Robinson, Salem City District Grief Counselor and the Salem High School Based Program Director, Ina Jetter.
