Salem's Taylor, Hun's Hansard selected for USA football team

Salem High School senior running back Jonathan Taylor, who set the South Jersey rushing record and modern-era single-season state record with 2,815 yards, and Hun defensive lineman Fred Hansard have been selected for the U.S. Under-19 National team

Taylor, a first-team all-state selection and the South Jersey Times Offensive Player of the Year, is a Wisconsin commit and Hansard is verbaled to Penn State.

The players are two of 56 high school seniors to represent Team USA in the first North American Championship at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex.

The North American championship combined teams from USA Football and Football Canada. Players arrive in Orlando on Jan. 23 and games will kick off on Jan. 28.
