Executive Gloucester County Superintendent of Schools Ave Altersitz, and Executive Salem County Superintendent of Schools Margaret Nicolosi, have announced the 2017 recipients of the Gifts of the Heart Scholarship Award. The law firm of Hoffman DiMuzio established this scholarship to reward two graduating students, one male and one female, from every Gloucester County and Salem County high school. It has allocated close to half a million dollars to the fund. Recipients are chosen by their high schools. Selection is based on the students' passion for helping others within the classroom and throughout the community during their four years of high school.

Hoffman DiMuzio hopes its scholarship program encourages students to activate their passion to serve the greater good by making gifts of the heart to others.

The two recipients from each high school (prioritized alphabetically by school name) will be announced weekly together with a short biography of the students.
