Salem High School baseball won the Tri-County Conference title for first time in more than 40 years

Salem High School athletic director Dave Suiter asked everyone who was at the school’s recent spring sports banquet and was alive in 1965 to stand up.
Not a lot of people left their seats.
Suiter used the exercise to illustrate a point. That was the year the Rams baseball team had last won a Tri-County Conference title — before this season. They went 11-1 in the Classic Division, downing Pennsville May 10 to split the season series and gain a one-game edge and using a 5-3 win over Schalick in the season finale last week to lock up their first title in nearly 50 years.
