	Elwood Raymond Essler (1929-1950) U.S. Army Service in Japan & Korea KIA in Korea Class of 1948 Corporal Essler was a member of Company D, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 29, 1950. His remains were not recovered. Awarded Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal Memorialized on the Korean War Memorial in Dayton, Ohio Class of 1948 Service Korean War
