Junior Achievement @ Salem High school

Salem High School students explored their entrepreneur skills while participating in the NEW JA Company Program this year. Junior Achievement held meetings with twenty students where they generated business ideas, raise capital, create and sell products or service, and liquidate their company just in time to compete in regional and national contests.
On April 18, six students attended Junior Achievement Barracuda Bowl Regional Competition. Three companies presented the success of their business to the judges in a 4 minute PowerPoint presentation followed by a 4 minutes Q & A. One minute commercials for their products were also required. Company presidents attended three separate meetings where they completed for the 2018 Company President which held a title and a $1,000 prize that was won by senior, Starrchild Jackson.
Snappy Solutions company created personal care kits for your unexpected personal situations. Shalazies company created tee shirts with a micro fiber cloth sewn inside to clean your phone or glasses. NJ Study Buddy created pencil case kits with snacks so students could tackle their school work with energy and the required tools.
Snappy Solutions placed 1st at the Delaware JA Regional level where each team member won rolling luggage. They must now create an annual business report. If their team is among the top 15 teams, they will attend the June National Competition in Washington DC.
Teacher and advisor, Suzanne Landolfi participated in the JA program to maximize the potential of the FBLA club, Future Business Leaders of America. FBLA even nominated JA representative Ryan Venderlic as FBLA Business Person of the Year. Mr. Venderlic attended the FBLA State Conference in Atlantic City with other JA representatives from North Jersey. Salem High School was the only Salem County school to participate in this new program.
